- Subscriptions will be charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple Account settings.
- Prices are displayed in the app and may change in accordance with applicable Apple terms and pricing requirements.
- The Lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not automatically renew.
Subscription purchases and renewals are subject to Apple's applicable terms and conditions.
2. Use of the App
Skúte is provided for your personal, non-commercial use and is intended to assist with route planning, navigation, and journey information.
The app, including its maps, routes, navigation instructions, speed information, points of interest, road information, and other data, is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
You acknowledge that:
- Map and road information may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or incorrect.
- Road layouts, speed limits, traffic restrictions, one-way systems, road closures, access restrictions, and other road conditions can change at any time.
- Information displayed by Skúte may not reflect the most recent changes to the road network or traffic regulations.
- GPS positioning may be inaccurate, unavailable, or delayed.
- Navigation instructions may occasionally be incorrect, delayed, or unsuitable for the current road conditions.
- Downloaded map tiles and other locally stored data may become outdated and should not be assumed to represent current road conditions.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have appropriate and up-to-date information before and during your journey.
3. Navigation, Speedometer & Speed Limit Information
Skúte may provide a GPS-based speedometer, maximum-speed warnings, speed-limit information, and related notifications through the iPhone and supported Apple Watch devices.
These features are provided for guidance and convenience only.
Speed readings and speed-limit information may not always be accurate. In particular, maximum-speed warnings and displayed speed limits may be incorrect or outdated due to changes to the road network, changes to local regulations, limitations in map data, GPS inaccuracies, or delays in updating road information.
The speedometer and speed-limit information provided by Skúte must not be treated as an authoritative or legally accurate source of the applicable speed limit.
You must always:
- Observe the speed limit and all other applicable traffic laws.
- Follow road signs, road markings, traffic signals, and instructions from authorised persons.
- Adjust your speed and driving according to weather, traffic, road conditions, visibility, and other circumstances.
- Verify the applicable speed limit using roadside signs and other official sources where appropriate.
- Use your own judgement and remain responsible for the safe operation of your vehicle.
If information displayed by Skúte conflicts with a road sign, road marking, traffic regulation, or instruction from an authorised person, you must follow the applicable law and official road information rather than the information displayed by Skúte.
4. Apple Watch Support
Skúte may provide navigation instructions, speed information, warnings, or other information through a supported Apple Watch.
Apple Watch features are intended to supplement the Skúte app and do not replace your responsibility to safely operate your vehicle.
You should not interact with your iPhone or Apple Watch in a manner that distracts you while driving or riding. If using the device would compromise your safety or your ability to control your vehicle, you must stop using the device and prioritise safe operation of your vehicle.
Availability and functionality of Apple Watch features may depend on the device, operating system, GPS availability, connectivity, battery level, and other technical factors.
5. Safety & Compliance With the Law
You are solely responsible for how you use Skúte and for complying with all applicable laws and regulations.
Skúte is an assistance tool and is not a substitute for your own judgement, attention, or knowledge of the road.
You must always operate your vehicle safely and in accordance with the laws applicable in the country or region in which you are travelling.
Do not rely solely on Skúte for navigation, speed-limit information, road restrictions, or other safety-critical information.
You remain responsible for determining whether a route is suitable and lawful for your vehicle and circumstances.
You should never use Skúte in a way that distracts you from driving or riding safely. You are responsible for ensuring that the use of your device and the app complies with local laws regarding mobile devices, navigation systems, and wearable devices while driving or riding.
6. User Content
Any routes or other data you create using Skúte are stored only on your device unless otherwise stated.
You are responsible for any content you create, save, or share using the app.
7. Route Recording, Lean Angle & Ride Data
Skúte may provide a route recording feature that records information about your journey, including route position, speed, maximum speed, and estimated lean angle while riding.
These measurements are provided for informational, entertainment, and personal reference purposes only. They are not intended to provide safety-critical, professional, competitive, or legally certified measurements.
You acknowledge that recorded ride data may not always be accurate. In particular:
- Speed and maximum-speed measurements may be affected by GPS accuracy, signal availability, device positioning, sampling frequency, device performance, and other technical factors.
- Lean-angle measurements are estimates derived from available device sensors and/or other data and may differ from the actual lean angle of the vehicle.
- Lean-angle measurements may be affected by the position and orientation of the device, how the device is mounted or carried, movement of the device, GPS or sensor inaccuracies, calibration, road conditions, and other factors.
- Maximum speed recorded by Skúte may differ from the actual speed of the vehicle.
- Recorded routes and ride statistics may contain gaps, inaccuracies, or other errors.
- Ride data should not be used as evidence of the actual speed, lean angle, vehicle behaviour, or road conditions at any particular time.
You must not use the route recording, lean-angle, maximum-speed, or other ride-data features in a way that encourages unsafe riding or causes you to divert your attention from operating your vehicle safely.
You remain solely responsible for the safe operation and control of your vehicle at all times.
Skúte does not encourage excessive speed, unsafe cornering, or riding beyond the limits of the rider, vehicle, road, weather, or traffic conditions. Recorded maximum speed or lean angle should not be interpreted as a recommendation or target for future riding.
8. Availability and Data Accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and reliable information, but we do not guarantee that:
- The app will be available at all times.
- GPS positioning will always be accurate or available.
- Maps or road information will be complete, current, or accurate.
- Speed limits or maximum-speed warnings will always be correct.
- Navigation instructions will always be accurate or suitable.
- Recorded maximum speed will accurately represent the actual speed of the vehicle.
- Recorded lean angle will accurately represent the actual lean angle of the vehicle.
- Route recordings or ride statistics will be complete or error-free.
- Apple Watch or other app features will operate without interruption or technical errors.
You acknowledge that road and geographic information can change without notice and that GPS and device sensor data cannot guarantee completely accurate measurements.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Skúte and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the app.
This includes, without limitation, any reliance on navigation instructions, maps, GPS information, speed readings, speed-limit information, maximum-speed warnings, Apple Watch notifications, route information, or other information provided by the app.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes to the app, its features, or applicable legal requirements.
When appropriate, we will provide notice of material changes. Your continued use of Skúte after updated Terms of Use become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction in which the Skúte developer is established, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
