1. Information We Collect
TakeCare ("the App") is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not require you to create an account or provide an email address or telephone number in order to use the App.
To provide reminders and a history of what you record, you may enter information such as:
- Medicine names, strengths and instructions
- Schedules, reminder times, start dates and optional end dates
- Inventory details, such as tablets remaining and tablets per dose
- Prescription notes, including pharmacy, prescriber or other notes you choose to store
- Taken, snoozed and skipped records, and related history
- Optional caregiver or family contact details, if you use those features
This information is used to provide the App's functionality and, where applicable, is stored locally on your device. Medicine and health-related information you enter is treated as sensitive and is not used for advertising.
The App records what you tell it. It does not decide whether you should take a dose, and it does not collect medical records from a clinician, pharmacy or health service unless you type or import that information yourself.
2. How We Use Information
Information entered into the App is used solely to provide and improve TakeCare, including reminders, inventory estimates, history, progress views, PDF reports you generate, and optional caregiver alerts.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.
3. Analytics and Diagnostics
The App may use Apple's standard services and/or third-party services to help us understand App performance, diagnose crashes and improve the App.
Where such services are used, they may collect limited technical information such as:
- Device type
- Operating system version
- App version
- Crash information
- General diagnostic information
This information is intended to help us identify technical problems and improve reliability. We do not use this information to identify you personally, and we do not send your medicine list or dose history to analytics services for advertising.
4. Purchases and Subscriptions
The App may offer paid features, subscriptions or in-app purchases, including TakeCare Pro.
Payments are processed through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store your credit card, debit card or other payment details.
Apple may collect and process information associated with purchases in accordance with Apple's own privacy policy.
5. Notifications, Reports and Caregiver Features
If you enable notifications, Apple's notification services deliver reminders on your device, and where you choose, on Apple Watch.
If you generate a PDF report, that report is created from information stored in the App. You are responsible for how you share or store any report you create.
If you use family or caregiver alerts, limited information you choose to share — such as that a dose was recorded as taken or skipped — may be sent to the contacts you select. You should only add people you trust, and you can stop sharing by turning those features off or removing a contact.
6. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party services where necessary to provide certain functionality, such as notifications, analytics, diagnostics or subscription management.
These services may process limited technical or purchase-related information according to their own privacy policies.
The App does not knowingly share your medicine list, dose history or other health-related information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
7. Advertising
TakeCare does not knowingly sell your personal information to advertisers.
If advertising is introduced into the App in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain what information may be collected and how it is used.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the App and associated services, including keeping medicine and history data on your device wherever practical.
However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
TakeCare is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so that appropriate steps can be taken.
10. Data Retention
Information stored locally by the App generally remains on your device until you delete it, remove a medicine, clear history, or uninstall the App.
Deleting the app removes data stored on your device.
Information processed by third-party services is retained according to their respective privacy policies and retention practices.
11. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including rights to:
- Request information about personal data that may be processed about you
- Request correction or deletion of personal information
- Object to certain types of processing
- Request restriction of processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
Because the App is designed to keep medicine and history data on your device, there may be little or no personal information held by us that can be associated with you. You can delete medicines and history in the App, or uninstall the App, to remove local data.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, applicable laws or the services we use.
Any updated Privacy Policy will be made available with the App or on the associated website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was most recently revised.
